Appears to be USED
From all appearances, the battery I was sent is a USED BATTERY. It is covered with fingerprints and has scratch marks all over it, some that seem to be the result of multiple insertions into a sweeper or charger. Now I have to admit that the 'street' price for one of these was a bit more (Oreck warns me not to quote prices), so the price may not unreasonable for a slightly used or refurbished item, ASSUMING IT PERFORMS WELL. But of course I have no way of knowing whether it is refurbed, nearly new, or near to it's limit of charges. BUT SENDING ME A USED OR REFURBISHED BATTERY WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGING THAT FACT IS SURELY, IF NOT ILLEGAL, ABOUT AS UNETHICAL AS AN ONLINE RETAILER CAN GET. So if you want to take a chance on this battery, who knows, you may get your money’s worth. I’ll just use this til it goes bad, and remember not to trust Oreck anymore.
