Direct Suction

The direct suction and roller brush rotating at about 5,600 revolutions per minute draw dirt right into the bag. The brush grooms the nap as it cleans.

Fast and Simple

The Saniseal® system automatically seals shut, locking the dirt in the disposable filter bag. Changing bags is effortless.

Furniture-Friendly Design

Its low profile, soft top and sides, and bright incandescent headlights make it easy to clean around and under furniture without scratching it. Side brushes make cleaning baseboards and edges easy.

HEPA Inner Bag

As air passes through the HEPA inner bag, it captures at least 99.97% of particles at .3 microns from that air, which includes the following: pollen, house dust, smoke, animal dander and mold spores. Great for pet lovers!

The Oreck Advantage: Direct Suction

Our direct suction design delivers dirt in a straight, efficient path right to the vacuum bag. It's a streamlined design that works beautifully with a smaller motor — and one reason why Oreck bagged uprights are so lightweight. Here's how: our upright vacuums incorporate a "dirty air system" in which dirt is pulled through a fan that breaks it into smaller particles that get sucked up into the vacuum. Oreck's smaller motor drives this fan, as well as the brushroll. Because these smaller motors sit closer to the floor they provide efficient suction and are able to spin the brushroll incredibly fast.

Disappointed I have had Oreck vacuums for years. My previous was an XL that was great. I gave it to my daughter and bought a Graphite....thinking(wrongly) that it would have the same dependability of my previous Orecks. I have read the other reviews and agree with most of the comments. There is something wrong with the roller. It almost seems like static. It does not pick up well and a lot of dust will cling to the back of the vacuum base. When I move from carpet to hard surface, dirt is transferred to the hard surface and the vacuum will not retrieve it. I read that someone got an upgraded roller... I guess I will have to do that, but why is a sub-standard roller in this machine? April 28, 2014
Oreck Graphite Problems I bought the Oreck Graphite less than a year ago. Previously, I've used the Oreck XL and the Oreck XL2. The XL2 still works and I use it to clean the basement floors. I've been using the Graphite upstairs where I have berber, cut/loop patterned carpet and porcelain tile. The motor has a loud piercing sound and the handle gets hot before I finish vacuuming the upstairs. Of the 3 Oreck vacuum cleaners I have purchased through the years, this is my least favorite. I am disappointed in the quality of this Oreck product. I started thinking I may have bought a discontinued product because it had issues, but I see it is still being sold. July 4, 2013
Bad Smell I have had a Graphite for about 1 1/2 years. I have my older Oreck XL downstairs and use my new Graphite upstairs. I don"t use it very much but everytime I do there is a terrible burnt hair smell. I took it in the first year for service and the manager had to dig out hair that was all over the brush. He also changed the belt. I thought that was why it would always smell bad but sure enough, it started smelling bad again after he serviced it. I NEVER had that problem with my older XL and now am not sure what to do with this one. I like how light it is and seems to pick up well but the smell is terrible and hate to use it. March 24, 2013
Cord broke within seven months. This is my second Oreck, and I have been a fan for years. I purchased this model to replace a three-year old Oreck at a trade-in sale in May 2012. I thought I was upgrading. Although the initial performance was excellent, the suction has diminished, it gives off a burning smell, and it makes a screeching sound when pulled backward. Moreover, I had the same problem as the previous reviewer--the cord snapped in half at the stress relief point. When I took it into my local dealer for warranty repair, the clerk suggested that the cord replacement might not be covered because it was due to normal wear and tear! He relented without much objection when I protested that Oreck should offer more than seven months of use before making that claim. In any event, I haven't given up on Oreck, yet. I ordered a second Oreck that day, figuring that cleaning would be easier with two and not wanting to be without one during the repair period. I ordered on a Saturday and am still waiting for it to ship on Tuesday. Hopefully the new model will arrive and it will be better than than Graphite. January 8, 2013
Power cord fails quickly Purchased an Oreck on reputation. The power cord fails quickly near the "stress relief". The nature of using the vacuum causes the cord to be flexed back and forth. The "stress relief" is too stiff and the cord is too wimpy so it breaks at the entry into "stress relief". The Oreck stores are closing up so there is nowhere nearby to get it repaired. Searching online for repair parts is futile. Nobody knows about this model number. u4300h2bpd January 6, 2013
Worst Vacuum ever I hate this vacuum. I have used it maybe 5 times and replaced the bags and belts 2 times. I had a cheap vacuum that I used in college to vacuum an apartment where 4 girls lived, and that vacuum picked up all our hair and never smoked or smelled. However, now that I live alone and use this Oreck, it can't handle picking up my hair. It gets clogged, smokes, and smells. It also makes a screeching noise. I never want to own an Oreck ever again. If you are thinking of buying this vacuum, just do yourself a favor and buy a cheap vacuum from target. Trust me it will work better and not be as much of a hassle. January 4, 2013
This product has great features Had this about 7 months. Had issues with the product. Oreck customer service was excellent, I would like to say that the rooler that comes with this product be replaced with a better one.. The tech I took the vacum too, said the rooler is junk.He showed me a better one for it. So if you are going to purchase this product. Keep in mind to up grade to a better roller. December 8, 2012
I Love My Oreck Graphite I love my Oreck. I have had it for about a year and it is so powerful that I can go from carpet to hardwood with no adjusting. I actually watch it pull dust away from the walls as I go. I had one experience of it throwing out stuff and I simply took it apart and cleared a small toy which was blocking it. I would recommend this vacuum to everyone. November 29, 2012
